How do I determine what size space to reserve?

This guide gives you an idea of what will fit into each size unit. Remember, this is only an estimate you may get more or less in your unit depending on how it is packed, your needs for future accessibility and size of furnishings.

  • If you store your property without visiting the storage unit for months at a time, you may consider a smaller unit size and pack your property tightly inside.
  • If you need to get into your storage unit on a fairly frequent basis, it may be wise to rent a slightly larger space. This will allow for an aisle or two between your items, which will make things more accessible to you without having to move things around.
  • If using a unit to store a vehicle or a boat, please carefully measure the overall size of your item (including the HEIGHT!) and compare it to the door size opening.

5ft x 10ft

This size unit yields a total of 50 square feet of space, similar in size to a large walk in closet. Will hold the contents of one room or what can be packed in a pick-up truck or a cargo van.  This unit can hold items such as chairs, sofas, chest of drawers, lamps, TVs and several boxes.  It would also accommodate a bicycle, motorcycle, small business inventory, seasonal yard equipment, and other miscellaneous items.   The garage door on this unit is 3'-0" wide and 7'-0" tall.

10ft x 10ft

This unit has a total of 100 square feet of space, similar size to an average sized bedroom or 1/2 of one-car garage. Will hold the contents of a 15ft moving van or the contents of 3 rooms, such as mattress sets, major appliances, sofas, chairs, dining rooms sets, multiple boxes and other small miscellaneous items.  It would also accommodate a jet ski, riding mower, 4-wheeler or snowmobile.  The garage door on this unit is 8'-7" wide and 7'-0" tall. 

10ft x 15ft

Similar in size to a large bedroom, with 150 square feet of space.  Will hold the contents of a 20ft moving van or the contents of 4 rooms, such as mattress sets, major appliances, sofas, chairs, dining rooms sets, multiple boxes and other small miscellaneous items.  This space is also ideal for larger items like televisions, pianos, couches and entertainment centers.  It would also accommodate a small vehicle, jet skis, riding mowers, snowmobiles or a small boat. The garage door on this unit is 8'-7" wide and 7'-0" tall. 

10ft X 20ft

Similar in size to a single car garage, with 200 square feet of space.  Will hold the contents of a 24ft moving van or the contents of 5 rooms such as mattress sets, sofa sets, major appliances, large screen TV's, dining room sets, garage extras, many boxes and other miscellaneous items.  It would also accommodate a vehicle, jet skis, snowmobiles or a boat with extra space for with additional items.  This size also works well for merchant or contractor inventories.  The garage door on this unit is 8'-7" wide and 7'-0" tall. 

10ft x 30ft

Similar in size to an extra-long garage with 300 square feet of space.  Will hold the contents of a 40ft moving van.  All of our 10ft x 30ft units have 2 doors, one on each end for easy access to your items.  This unit will hold the contents of 6-7 rooms such as mattress sets, sofa sets, major appliances, large screen TV's, entertainment centers, dining room sets, over-sized furniture, garage extras, many boxes and other miscellaneous It would also accommodate a vehicle, jet skis, riding lawn mowers,  snowmobiles or a boat. This size also works well for merchant or contractor inventories.  The garage doors on this unit are each 8'-7" wide and 7'-0" tall.
